Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area, in southwestern Wyoming and northeastern Utah, makes an ideal summer destination for those seeking cool weather, stunning scenery or lots of water-related activities. It’s about a nine-hour drive from Las Vegas, but rewards the effort.
